Matthew Daly

Matthew Daly is a managing director at Mercadien, P.C., Certified Public Accountants, and a member of its Government Services Group. His main responsibilities include overseeing the Government Services team, planning and performing audits and agreed-upon procedures for state and local authorities, state agencies and municipalities. Mr. Daly is also responsible for the evaluation of bond compliance, compilations, agreed-upon procedures and consulting projects for state, local, and municipal government organizations and the completion of various audit testing procedures for the firm’s government clients.  He also analyzes internal controls over financial reporting and develops recommendations that allows clients to gain efficiencies in their organization and its operations. In addition to performing financial audits, his expertise also includes audits in accordance with Uniform Guidance and New Jersey Circular Letter 15-08-OMB.

Furthermore, Mr. Daly has experience in reviewing and preparing budgets, unaudited annual financial statements, annual and supplemental debt statements and attending bond ratings calls. He is also involved in the technical training of firm staff with new audit and accounting pronouncements issued by the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB), local finance notices issued by the Division of Local Government Services and serves as a mentor to the firm’s emerging young leaders.
