Lisa M. Thouin, CPA, CGMA, managing director of The Mercadien Group, principal in Mercadien, P.C., Certified Public Accountants, and co-leader of its Nonprofit Services Group, has been elected to the board of trustees of Enable Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping individuals with permanent and chronic physical or cognitive disabilities and senior citizens to live full and independent lives in the community. Enable achieves its mission by providing services, support and living arrangements to afflicted individuals and their families throughout central New Jersey.

Thouin is a certified public accountant and chartered global management accountant with more than 20 years of experience providing accounting, tax and management advisory services. As co-leader of Mercadien’s Nonprofit Services Group, she works extensively with nonprofit organizations in the performance of audits, compliance and tax services, and multi-state charities reporting, and is a frequent speaker and author on topics such as Form 990, board governance and budgeting.

Thouin is a member of the American Institute and New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants. She currently serves as president of the board of trustees of Millhill Child and Family Development Corporation and is a member of the Information Technology Council of the New Jersey Association of Mental Health and Addiction Agencies, Inc. As an adjunct instructor at Mercer County Community College for several years, Ms. Thouin taught Budgeting Basics, one of the core courses for certification in the nonprofit management program. She resides in Pennington, New Jersey.
