It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our partner and dear friend, Eugene “Gene” Elias. We are so fortunate to have had Gene and his family as part of our Mercadien family for almost 30 years. He was a friend, mentor, advisor, and role model to many of us, and he created a path and legacy at Mercadien that many of us have followed and benefited from. We will never forget, nor be the same without, him. 

Gene was a very talented professional, and founded the Government Services Group at Mercadien, which contributed enormously to our success over the years. As a Registered Municipal Accountant and Certified Government Financial Manager, he advised various major state, local and federal government entities on budgetary, financial and compliance issues unique to this sector.

A viewing will be held for Gene on Thursday, June 9^th at Saul Funeral Homes in Hamilton Square, NJ, from 5 – 8 PM. The funeral mass will be on Friday, June 10^th at 10 AM at Saint John the Baptist Church in Allentown, NJ. Burial will follow the mass, followed by a luncheon.
