Demonstrating the community involvement, professional teamwork and holiday spirit that have been an important and recognized focus of the firm for more than 50 years, nearly 100 employees from The Mercadien Group recently participated in a day of service that the firm organized for the benefit of three local nonprofit organizations – the Hamilton YMCA, HomeFront and Womanspace – and their constituents, and for a celebration of the season with its associates.
Held at Rider University’s Bart Luedeke Center on Friday, December 11, 2015, the event consisted of teams of Mercadien professionals, in holiday gear and cheer, diligently working for several hours to assemble and decorate a variety of gifts for children, including bikes, rocking chairs, stuffed animals, blankets, ornaments and books, donated by Mercadien. Representatives of the nonprofit organizations were present to discuss their missions, facilitate and encourage the volunteers, and pack up the finished toys onto trucks for distribution to families and facilities in need over the next few weeks. In addition to participating in a day of community service during this holiday season, associates of The Mercadien Group sponsored their 15th annual holiday toy drive at their offices, donating dozens of new toys and raising nearly $900 to purchase additional gifts, in support of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves’ Toys-for-Tots Program.
