SafeSend Gather is a secure & seamless electronic method to easily gather and submit your tax documents and send them to your trusted tax advisor.

SafeSend Gather – Frequently Asked Questions

No. SafeSend Gather requires no log in credentials nor the use of an app. You can access the gather request via the secure link that was emailed to you from your desktop or phone. The site is mobile friendly, and you can easily complete tasks from your mobile device or tablet.

Your gather link is located under a link specific to your tax request year. The link is emailed to you in January from [email protected]. If you cannot find the email in your inbox, please reach out to your Mercadien tax advisor to re-send your personalized link.

You are able to create one portal account that will have all of your information. All you have to do is set up your account and the great part is you still don’t have to remember a username and password. The credentials are based on your email, pin and 2FA one-time access code.

You have the option add your spouse or other person to access your account. All you have to do is add them as an additional user.

SafeSend Gather – User Tips

We want to work as a team to get your return prepared as quickly and accurately as possible.

1- If you do not have a scanner or have larger documents with multiple pages, please feel free to either mail those documents to us or drop them off at our office and our staff will scan those documents and return them to you after your tax returns have been completed.
2- Keep in mind, it’s best to upload any PDF documents directly, especially brokerage 1099s, by uploading the PDF into the add source documents section.
3- You can drag and drop any tax documents you receive electronically directly to your account. By dragging and dropping the files directly, you won’t need to print anything and the image quality will be higher.
4- Upload each document only once. SafeSend Gather AI will place a check mark next to the recognized document marking it complete. If Gather AI doesn’t recognize the document it will be listed in the uncategorized section.
