Description: In August 2016, the CFPB issued a final rule that clarified, revised and amended several provisions in the 2013 Mortgage Servicing Rules. These provisions included requirements regarding force-placed insurance notices, early intervention and loss mitigation under Regulation X servicing provisions; and prompt crediting and periodic statements under Regulation Z servicing provisions. The final rule also addressed servicing requirements when a person is potential or confirmed successor in interest, is a debtor in bankruptcy, or has sent a cease communication request under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
