The Mercadien Foundation is a community foundation focused on creating philanthropic synergies to serve The Mercadien Group’s market area. It provides clients, friends and associates of The Mercadien Group with an outlet for giving back to the community in which we live and work.
The Mercadien Foundation pools a collection of charitable funds established by various donors. Invested together, these funds provide a continuing resource for the community; a resource which can grow over time and can be distributed across many areas of need.
The Foundation provides an array of services to donors who wish to establish endowed funds, allowing them to avoid the administrative and legal costs of establishing private foundations. These donors can make contributions for the general benefit of the community or earmark contributions for specific purposes. The Foundation involves representative members of the community on its board of directors to approve grants that will serve the public interest.
Being donors to The Mercadien Foundation allows members of our companies, their clients and friends to build upon their solid relationships to create accomplishments not for themselves, but for others in need.
We feel that The Mercadien Foundation is an important part of The Mercadien Group and its core philosophy because a chain is only as strong as its weakest link; and we all have a responsibility to give back to the community in which we live. We encourage all those with the means to consider The Mercadien Foundation as a way to loan some of their strength to others in our community. |
